Focus and Scope

Indonesian Journal of Herbal and Biomedical Research (IJHBR) publishes original research articles, reviews, and short communications in the fields of herbal medicine, natural products, and biomedical sciences that contribute to the advancement of health-related knowledge and technologies.

The scope of the journal includes, but not limited to: :

Herbal and Natural Product Research:

  • Exploration, isolation, and characterization of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants and natural sources

  • Development, formulation, and evaluation of herbal products, traditional medicines, and phytopharmaceuticals

  • Pharmacological and toxicological studies (in vitro, in vivo, or ex vivo) of herbal extracts or natural products

  • Ethnopharmacological studies and traditional knowledge of medicinal plants

  • Standardization, quality control, and analytical method development for herbal preparations

  • Herbal-drug interactions and safety assessments

  • Biotechnology and innovation in herbal-based healthcare

Biomedical Research:

  • Cellular and molecular mechanisms of diseases and therapeutic interventions

  • Experimental studies on pathophysiology, diagnostics, and treatment strategies

  • Preclinical and translational biomedical research

  • Development and evaluation of biomedical technologies, biomaterials, and drug delivery systems

  • Studies on biomarkers, gene expression, and signal transduction related to health and disease

  • Research on infectious and non-communicable diseases with biomedical approaches

  • Immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, and tissue engineering relevant to medical science

IJHBR encourages submissions from a wide range of scientific backgrounds, including pharmacy, biology, medicine, chemistry, medical laboratory technology, biotechnology and public health, as long as the research is relevant to herbal or biomedical contexts.
